As a child, Stacey traveled the country with her family, stopping in every General Store and local shop across America. At a young age, she developed a love of lore and crafts. Bruce's love of community service and Teaneck pride has been the at the core of his life for the last 30 years. On a vacation to Vermont in the summer of 2009, their plan for the Teaneck General Store was born, a natural and organic outgrowth of their passions.

The Teaneck General Store opened in November 2009, with a focus on Fair Trade, artist-made and eco-friendly gifts. Stacey and Bruce are devoted to finding unique items at affordable prices. The store evolved in March 2010 to include a cafe, thus creating a gathering place for shopping, food and conversation. The Teaneck General Store has also become a local venue with an ever-expanding calendar of art, music, poetry, comedy and speaking engagements.

The guiding principle of the Teaneck General Store is to create a destination with a sense of community, Fair Trade values and social responsibility.

We are a participant in the Puffin Foundation’s program, Teaneck Festival of the Art and display work from local artisans through this local non-profit organization. We also are able to hold promotional ceremonies and work meetings and functions. We have an ideal coffee shop with only the most natural products, but are equally delicious and affordable.
